390th Memorial Museum Projects
Welcome one and all!

The Sonoran Desert Model Builders in conjunction with the 390th Memorial Museum and Pima Air & Space Museum proudly present 4 permanent exhibits that are in work or have been installed in the 390th Memorial Museum located within the Pima Air & Space Museum. The largest exhibit will depict Station 153: Parham Field Diorama. Accompanying this is the Airfield Window Box Diorama, a replica of the Framlingham Castle, and a Spotter Aircraft display. SDMB is honored to build these displays to honor the brave crews that fought for freedom in World War Two and specifically the 390th Bombardment Group.

Framlingham Castle Replica
This significant landmark near the Parham Airfield was a welcome sight to the weary bomber crews as they
returned to base from their missions. When completed this castle replica will be displayed on a pedestal near the Station 153 diorama
(work in progress).

Spotter Aircraft Display

Spotter cards were used to familiarize aircrews with different aircraft types. These cards consisted of black silhouettes of the aircraft. The Sonoran Desert Model Builders painted all the aircraft models black to recreate this 2 dimensional card in three dimensions.
